Tour & Taxis : Warehouse B

Known locally as "the prison"

Espace 251 Nord

Photographed October 2001

Tour and Taxi is no longer an abandoned warehouse. The ghosts have left the building; chased away by loud music, the smell of beer and cigarette smoke.

Old-timers stand where trains once stopped to be unloaded. Artist name plates hide the numbers of former prison cells and even the darkest corners are well lit.

"Just stop here and ask for windows XP" ... need I say more ?

As I sneaked in and walked through this new temple of contemporary art, I had to admit that much of the building's charm remains.

“Warehouse B” hasn't become a shopping mall, a bank, or a disco...but...well you know, it just isn't the place I used to know!
