The investors were not prepared to finance the modernization of the century-old factory.

Another tragedy for this gloomy part of the country, more workers and families losing jobs and income, another busy place that turns silent.

A couple of months before the actual shut down I was admitted on the site.
First time for me in a working cokes factory : it felt like going back half a century (imagine, the 1950's ...).
